Overview
The Hydraflow W is a wall-mount clamp-on ultrasonic flow and BTU meter for industrial and utility pipework from DN25 to DN1200, suited to water and energy utilities, district cooling networks and process plant where large lines must be metered without breaking into the pipe. The transducers fit to the pipe exterior, so installation needs no shutdown and no welding.
It measures bidirectional flow from ±0.03 m/s to ±12 m/s (±0.09 to ±40 ft/s) at ±1% of reading accuracy, with an optional 0.5% version and 0.2% repeatability. With two PT1000 RTD inputs on the energy version, the same meter reports thermal energy for heating and cooling BTU applications. Transducer cable runs of up to 274 m let the transmitter sit well away from the measurement point.
The PC/ABS transmitter carries an IP65 rating and the encapsulated ABS transducers are IP68 rated for buried or flooded pits. Outputs include 4 to 20 mA (max load 750Ω) and a 0 to 10 kHz pulse output, with RS232/RS485 Modbus and optional HART communication. The transmitter operates from −20 to 60°C, with transducers rated to 80°C as standard and to 130°C in the high-temperature version.
