Overview
The Hydrasonic EMV is an ultrasonic thermal energy (BTU) meter combined with a motorized energy control valve in a single device, built for heating and cooling systems that need to bill consumption and regulate flow at the same point. Across DN15 to DN40 it measures thermal energy to Class 2 accuracy while its integrated valve modulates or shuts off flow remotely to hold the target delta T.
For district cooling and central plant networks, controlling delta T is where energy and money are lost. The EMV combines metering and active flow control so operators can correct low-delta-T faults and curb over-consumption without adding a separate field valve, supporting a temperature difference range of 2 – 90 K across a working temperature of 4 – 95 °C.
The meter pairs a two-wire PT1000 temperature sensor set with an 8-bit LCD display, carries an IP68 rating, and withstands magnetic fields up to 100 kA/m without losing metering or transmission accuracy. Communication spans Optical, M-Bus, RS-485, LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, Zigbee and wMBus, powered by a 3.6 V lithium battery (up to 6 years) or external DC24V.
